Crested Butte was having a very good day

Eleni and I tell people that the fall is our favorite time of year!!!

This year we decided to hit the Mesa no Monday and take the long way to Avon for a Pinot Noir tasting via Gunnison, Crested Butte, Kebler Pass, Mc Clure Pass and Glennwood Canyon on Wednesday!

Here we are just outside the city limits of Crested Butte anticipating what's to come on the road ahead???

Oh yeah .....around the corner on the way to Kebler Pass was the grandest site we have seen in the 7 years we have been living in Colorado!

...and it just kept getting better

There were lots of photographers out so don't be surprised if you see more in the next edition!

Fire on The Mountain!

The route we took from Ridgway

Fall Colors are going off at altitudes above 9000 ft. Eleni and I took Saturday off to go to the wine festival with John Lowey then after lunch headed south to go to an art exhibition in Ridgway. We got to visit with many of our friends there and view the work of some very talented folks including Barbara Kendrick who has definitely found the knack of painting with pastels.

When we woke up Sunday morning it was 23° out so we cancelled the bike ride we had planned and headed to Durango via Red Mountain Pass. At around 7000 ft. Pleasant Valley was getting ready to go off but was not quite there. However, once we started the climb up to Red Mountain Pass the mountains became a fabulous show of color. After our overnight in Durango we came back over Lizard Head Pass and Telluride. By next weekend the Dolores River Canyon between Rico and Dolores will be a spectacular scene. I don't think I have ever seen so many aspens in one place. Any way these are a few of the pictures I took in my wham bam style of photography. If we're lucky Mike Curtis might grace our web site with some of his professional efforts in the next couple of weeks.
